Millions of bikers from around the country roared into the D.C. area on Wednesday in a show of support for Sept. 11 victims and in solidarity against a controversial Muslim rally on the Mall.

The 2 Million Bikers to DC ride might have fallen short of 2 million strong, but the numbers were impressive. A line of shining chrome and steel bikes stretched about a third of a mile from the starting point at the Harley Davidson of Washington store just outside the District in Prince George’s County.
The bikers began departing from the store at about 10:30 in staggered groups of 50, stopped for traffic lights and taking an hour or so to get on the road.

The ride was complicated by the fact that federal and local authorities denied a permit that would have offered the riders a police escort through traffic — a sore spot with organizers who thought the denial was for political purposes.

“We’re here for 9-11,” said national ride coordinator Belinda Bee. “We are going to have a peaceful ride. … But there are people who are sick and tired of their rights and liberties being taken away.”

The National Park Service has denied any political motivation for refusing the permit, which ride organizers sought last month. The Park Service earlier this year granted a permit to a Muslim group planning a rally Wednesday to call attention to social justice issues. Where is the coverage for the 2 Million Biker March? Anyone seeing it?

The American Muslim Political Action Committee has scheduled a rally to draw attention to what they call unfair fear of Muslims after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Ms. Bee said the ride was originally set up to counter the rally and show respect for the victims of that day.

2 Million Biker Ride to DC 9/11/2013

Published on Aug 22, 2013

Muslims who have begun promoting a 9/11 march in Washington that originally was to protest “anti-Islamic bigotry in the U.S.” and then turned into a “March Against Fear” may have some competition.

Loud competition. Very loud. And lots of it.

In what was a virtual impossibility before the Internet, a Facebook page has been created in which many individuals are coordinating what they have dubbed “2 Million Bikers to DC.”

At the Mr. Conservative blog, the author said: “The best way to counter bad speech is to oppose it with good speech. Sometimes ‘speech’ can be expressed simply by the number of people who are willing to show up to support a principle. That’s the view that hundreds of bikers (so far) across American have as they prepare to join a ‘2 Million Biker Ride to DC’ to counter the planned Sept. 11 ‘Million Muslim March.'”

On the Facebook page, the community purpose is described as: “To honor those who were killed on 911 and our armed forces who fought those who precipitated this attack!”

More than 16,000 “likes” had been generated in just a short time.

“We have now created the final phase for states to coordinate! All riders need to look at the state list, choose your state and request to be added! Several states still need coordinators,” is included in the instructions.

Four dozen pages to coordinate delegations from individuals states already exist.

A Ronald Curaba said: “Who ever comments I would like to do this … should shut up and show up! Im a retired FDN Lt. I should be at my old firehouse where I was on that ill fated day …. but I will be in DC riding! God willing!”

Added Bryan Short: “How appropriate. A million muslims surrounded by 2 million hogs!”

Organizers of the page added: “Folks, just wanted to say thank you for your support. This event has been a lot of work. But for our country it is worth it. As with any event such as this we are being attacked from every angle. But we will not allow those distractions to deter us from our goal nor the goal of the originator of this event Mr. Bill Williamson.”

“God Bless Ride Safe,” added Tammy Bowman.

“Ride on brothers,” said Bob Halley.

Despite being denied a permit to ride motorcycles through Washington D.C., thousands of bikers took to the nation’s capital to protest the “Million Muslim March,” a tiny, fringe event magnified by recent conservative outrage.

Facebook page for the event describes the bike ride as “a patriotic event to honor the memory of those lost to us on 9-11-2001.” An earlier post on the group’s Facebook page said the group “changed the theme of this event from a protest [of the “Million Muslim March” to a ride on purpose!”

WTOP reports the bikers were denied police escorts and no-stop permits by the National Park Service and the Metropolitan Police Department because the ride would cause major disruption to traffic on a regular workday in Washington. The permit denial sparked a controversythe Washington Times reported earlier:

Denial of the permit sparked outrage on the biker group’s website because the District of Columbia reportedly has granted the American Muslim Political Action Committee a permit for the Million Americans Against Fear rally, formerly known as the Million Muslim March, for Wednesday on the National Mall, the PAC announced Saturday.

The American Muslim Political Action Committee did hold a “Million American March Against Fear” Wednesday on the Mall, but fewer than 30 people showed up to the event.

Thousands of bikers roared through the Washington, D.C., area Wednesday to mark the anniversary of 9/11.

The bikers — riding with the group “Two Million Bikers to D.C.” — snarled traffic on the Beltway with a ride honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the members of the military called to serve after the attacks.

On their Facebook page, in all caps, the group said they will stand by the Constitution and Bill of Rights, adding that they’re “against any fundamental transformation of America.”

Officers Who Died on 9/11 Honored in D.C.
By 5 p.m., there were just a handful of motorcycles still rolling around the National Mall. But earlier Wednesday, the scene was absolutely overwhelming. While the numbers fell short of the “two million” implied by the name of the event, there were easily thousands of bikers participating.

The ride began at Harley Davidson of Washington in Fort Washington, Md., at 11 a.m., where the sheer number of bikes was too great to stop.Other drivers were forced to wait and watch. Many didn’t mind. Instead, they snapped photos and waved.

“I could stay here for half an hour; I don’t care; this is America,” said Santana Sensenna while stuck in the traffic.

The bikes rolled in a steady stream for 50 straight minutes before heading to the Beltway. The ride wasn’t smooth for everyone. At one point a motorcycle went down on the Outer Loop in the Bethesda area, causing traffic to back up for miles.

  1. A new book on 9/11 is out.

Dimitri Khalezov has spent 10 years researching and writing a book on what happened during 9/11. The book is now available on the internet.
    Instructions for downloading his book:

In a 2010 interview, Dimitri Khalezov explained that anyone who wants to build a skyscraper in NYC must submit a satisfactory demolition plan to the building authorities before the project is approved. On 9/11, the demolition plan of the World Trade Center (‘WTC’) was activated to destroy the complex.

He knew of this demolition plan from his job in the Soviet Union. He had worked in the nuclear intelligence unit and under an agreement between the Soviet Union and the USA, each country was obliged to inform the other of peaceful uses of nuclear explosions. The WTC was constructed with built-in explosive charges for its eventual demolition – 3 thermo-nuclear devices were placed within the foundations of the complex for this purpose.

    More info on the author:
    http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/esp_sociopol_911_154.htm
The links for the 2010 interview are at the end of the webpage.
In # 4, Khalezov talks of the demolition plan of the WTC.
In # 14, he explains what happened to Building 7 (which fell down nearly half an hour AFTER the BBC reporter announced its collapse).

Khalezov was recently interviewed on the Mike Harris show on 4th September 2013:
